SICE's long worldwide experience in toll systems has been essential in achieving the adaptation project for toll and electronic toll systems of the Jala-Compostela highway: this stretch, located in Nayarit state, has two toll plazas (one main and one secondary). In addition, the project scope includes the adaptation of 10 multimodal lanes and the installation of fibre optic along the 68 km highway for the communication and ITS systems.

The Jala-Compostela highway project was convened by BANOBRAS under MRO modality (Maintenance, Rehabilitation and Operation). Therefore, the systems’ design and installation will meet the performance standards required by BANOBRAS.

The work to adapt the toll system will be carried out in a 120-day period. However, the company has 270 days to implement the electronic toll collection and 180 days for the ITS system. The project includes an 8-year maintenance service.

SICE has experience implementing complex systems subject to strong regulations and performance standards, such as those already successfully installed on the Atlacomulco-Maravatío, La Marquesa-Lerma and Tenango-Ixtapan highways.
