SICE, Inc. just received Final Acceptance for the first project as a Prime Contractor with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two. With this project SICE, Inc. already completed four projects within the State of Florida as Prime Contractor, two with the FDOT (District Two and Four) and two with the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX).

The T2575 Project was an ITS project, which consisted of 33 miles of highway from Duval County to Flagler County. The company installed 33 miles of copper service wire, eleven power services, forty-five CCTV poles, forty-five CCTVs, forty five MVDSs, and eleven DMSs. This was the first project in which SICE self-performed the electrical installations in the USA. These devices are enabling FDOT to monitor to improve the safety of motorist along this dangerous stretch of road.

This project was completed one month ahead of schedule with an overall CPPR of 104, the maximum score allowed by FDOT guidance.  The following quote is from the district ITS Project Manager after our 90% walk though:

“All, I wanted to express how happy I was with the 90% walk through today of the SJC [St. Johns County] I95 project. With the exception of 2 cabinets that were already noted as needing lowered there were very minor issues found. There was the occasional duct seal missing, some light cleaning needed, and some fittings tightened. All in all though a very good walk through and one of the best 90% walk through I’ve been on in a long time. I appreciate everyone’s hard work to make sure the product given is the best quality possible. –Matt Harbert”.
